The Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group), an economic zones operator in the MENA region, has signed a 50-year land lease agreement with UAE-based company Abundance Solar Panels Industries to build a solar power plant.
The solar plant will be based in KEZAD’s Al Ma’mourah area and cost AED55m to establish. Once operational, the facility will manufacture high-tech solar panels and integrated PV modules.
KEZAD’s and Abundance Solar Panels’ plant will span around 27,000sqm, and become another cornerstone of KEZAD’s clean energy efforts. Additionally, it will contribute to the UAE’s transition towards a net-zero future through investing in renewable energy.
Sunil Madhok, the founder of Abundance Solar Panels Industries, reinforces the statement that the fully automated PV production plant will contribute to Abu Dhabi’s net-zero future.
We are delighted to welcome Abundance’s solar panel plant,” Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group, comments.
“This project aligns with our leadership’s vision for sustainable economic development and KEZAD Group’s goals of driving industrial growth responsibly and sustainably in Abu Dhabi.”
According to KEZAD, the solar plant will maintain a “sustainable ecosystem” while producing panels featuring the latest developments on the market. The Group adds that its industrial strategy includes developing a sustainable infrastructure for the Emirate’s green future that also prioritises energy security.
