Renewable energy solutions provider Sineng Electric has partnered with solar manufacturer Trinasolar to provide a central power conversion system (PCS) for the 300MWh Abydos BESS project in Kom Ombo, Egypt.

This project, developed by AMEA Power and constructed by Energy China ZTPC, is expected to be Egypt’s first utility-scale energy storage project – enhancing the existing 500MW Abydos solar power plant.

Sineng Electric will supply its 5MW central PCS medium-voltage (MV) turnkey stations. These stations feature advanced thermal management and are compatible with high-power batteries.

Sineng Electric Vice-President Zhengmao Jiang says: “The project exemplifies the transformative potential of solar-plus-storage systems in addressing energy challenges.

“It also marks Sineng Electric’s first shipment of energy storage solutions to the Middle East and Africa, a significant milestone in our global expansion.”

This partnership follows Sineng Electric’s recent contributions to the commissioning of the 90MW Omkareshwar floating solar plant in India and a 6MW/24MWh grid-forming energy storage project in Tibet, China.
