Statkraft A/S, a Norway-based power producer, is seeking permission to build a 492MW solar farm cluster in western Spain.

The plan includes installing the solar farms in five municipalities in Spain’s Caceres province.

The proposal requests permits for four individual projects, which will become a complex called Zajuril. Public consultation is currently underway for Statkraft’s application and environmental impact statement (EIS) for three of the four projects.

According to Statkraft, the fourth project will also follow this process in the upcoming months.

Spain’s Official State Gazette (BOE) currently includes information about three projects: 150-MW Pinea, 114-MW Calzadilla and 91-MW Guijo. The fourth project will include 137-MW Ahigal-Cerezo.

Statkraft Espana anticipates an investment of over €300m in the Zajuril projects, with the four plants complete and functioning in 2028.
