The renewable energy fund KGAL ESPF 5 is expanding its portfolio having acquired two additional solar parks near Magdeburg, Germany, with a combined capacity of 60MW.

The two projects, Calvörde West (40MW) and Grauingen (20MW), will further strengthen the KGAL ESPF 5 portfolio, the fund announced.

KGAL has secured favourable long-term feed-in tariffs for most of the capacity, ensuring attractive returns. Both solar projects are expected to be operational by autumn 2025, with projections indicating consistent and predictable energy output.

These new installations will complement the 60MW Calvörde Ost solar park, which KGAL acquired in early 2023 and is set to begin operations soon. Additionally, the Calvörde Ost plant still has available generation capacity not allocated through the EEG auction process.

Looking ahead, KGAL plans to participate in the Federal Network Agency’s innovation tender for large-scale solar power plants with integrated battery storage solutions.
