Jinko ESS, a global energy storage company and subsidiary of Jinko Solar, has signed an agreement with UK-based energy developer AGR Renewables for a 140MWh grid-scale storage project.
The installation will use 28 units of Jinko ESS’s G2 5MWh liquid-cooled containerised systems. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2025, with commissioning expected in Q1 2026.
Designed for the UK’s varied climate, the G2 system is built to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C and in consistently damp conditions.
It features advanced liquid-cooling technology to keep cell temperature variation within ±2.5°C, while maintaining more than 94% round-trip efficiency, even in cold weather.
The system has an IP55 rating to protect against rain and snow and includes a multi-level safety system compliant with both international and UK standards.
It also integrates an AI-powered Smart Cloud Management Platform to optimise energy use through real-time charge and discharge strategies.
“This project collaboration marks a high level of recognition of Jinko ESS’s technology in the UK market,” said Roberto Murgioni, General Manager of Jinko ESS Europe.
“The G2 system is uniquely suited to UK conditions and will play a significant role in supporting the nation’s clean energy transition.”
