SolarWadi, a leading renewable energy developer in Oman, has partnered with Nafath Energy, an Omani solar EPC contractor, to build a solar power plant at the Arab Open University in Muscat.
This project significantly reduces the university’s carbon footprint while supporting Oman’s Vision 2040 sustainability goals.
The solar plant is expected to generate over 2 GWh of clean energy annually, lowering the university’s reliance on traditional energy sources and serving as a sustainability model for educational institutions in the region.
Mr. Waleed AlHallaj, Head of Business Development MENA at Amarenco, a shareholder of SolarWadi, says: “This partnership with Nafath Energy for the Arab Open University’s solar plant underscores the critical role of renewable energy in supporting both local and national decarbonisation goals.
“By leveraging Oman’s solar potential, this project showcases how sustainable energy solutions can drive down carbon emissions and strengthen energy independence.”
The collaboration highlights SolarWadi’s commitment to fostering local expertise and innovation in renewable energy.
Once operational, the project will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote energy independence, reflecting the shared dedication of both companies to a greener, more sustainable Oman.
