SUNOTEC and Sungrow have signed a strategic agreement to deploy 2.4 GWh of BESS across multiple solar power projects in Europe, with a focus on Bulgaria.
The portfolio includes large-scale projects that aim to meet energy storage needs, including several supported by Bulgaria’s RESTORE national program.
These installations will be among the largest and most advanced energy storage systems in both Bulgaria and Europe.
Sungrow will supply its PowerTitan 2.0 BESS, along with its SG350HX-20 string inverter and MVS for a hybrid PV and storage project. This partnership marks Sungrow’s first BESS deployment in Bulgaria.
“The global energy transition depends not only on how much renewable power we produce, but on how intelligently we manage and store it,” said Kaloyan Velichkov, Founder and CEO of SUNOTEC.
“This partnership with SUNGROW reflects our shared ambition to lead the next chapter of clean energy – by building resilient, storage-enabled infrastructure that brings stability, sustainability, and scale to markets across Europe and beyond.”
The BESS installations are expected to support grid stability, improve renewable energy integration, and boost the reliability of SUNOTEC’s solar parks across the region.
“This collaboration with SUNOTEC is a cornerstone of our mission to accelerate clean energy deployment in Bulgaria and across Europe,” said Anastasios Gkinis, Regional Director of Sungrow for the CEE, SEE & CIS.
“Combining Sungrow’s cutting-edge energy storage technology with SUNOTEC’s execution excellence we create a powerful force to redefine the energy landscape.”
The partnership highlights SUNOTEC’s strategy to integrate smart energy systems into its solar infrastructure and aims to set new benchmarks for energy storage in Europe.
