AMPYR Solar Europe has secured financing for a 96 MWp solar PV project in the Netherlands.

The project is expected to deliver clean energy to 30,000 homes by June 2025 and reduce carbon emissions by over 36,000 tonnes annually.

Spanning 65 hectares along a dyke near IJsselmeer, this is the third project in a €200 million multi-project financing facility from Rabobank. The NOP solar plant will integrate with existing wind and solar infrastructure and operate as a single unit.

Combined with other solar parks, it will become part of the largest wind-solar hybrid complex in the Netherlands, reaching a capacity of 850 MWp upon completion.

The project additionally involves collaboration with over 30 landowners and developers, all addressing unique design and grid connection challenges.

AMPYR’s total renewable capacity in the Netherlands will exceed 130 MWp, further advancing the country’s energy transition.

CEO Tarun Agrawal highlighted the project’s innovative integration of energy infrastructure, saying: “With this project, AMPYR Solar Europe has created an energy landscape that integrates seamlessly with existing wind energy infrastructure.

“Through close coordination with other parties, we achieved a unique design that not only maximises energy generation through solar PV but also minimises the impact on the surrounding environment.”

Rabobank’s Pieter Plantinga adds: With the addition of the NOP Solar project to this portfolio financing, AMPYR Solar Europe is realising a unique project situated near the dykes and beneath the existing wind turbines.”

AMPYR Solar Europe continues to expand its solar portfolio across Europe, with a 1.5 GWp pipeline in the Netherlands and nearly 8 GWp across Europe.
